Why this exists
Indian investors planning retirement routinely juggle two browser tabs: one calculator to work out what a SIP will build, another to work out how long that corpus will last under monthly withdrawals. The number has to be carried by hand from the first to the second, and it goes stale the moment any assumption changes.
This site collapses that into one screen. The total value produced by the SIP or lumpsum calculator is written directly into the SWP calculator’s total investment field and stays synchronised as you adjust the inputs.
How the numbers are produced
Three standard formulas, applied exactly as published, with no hidden fees, no assumed fund expense ratio and no tax deduction:
- SIP — future value of an annuity due: FV = P × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i)
- Lumpsum — annual compounding: FV = P × (1 + r)t
- SWP — corpus compounded forward less each withdrawal: FV = C × (1 + i)n − W × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ i]
What it cannot tell you
Every projection here applies one constant rate to every single month. No market behaves that way. Real returns arrive unevenly, and for a withdrawal plan the order in which good and bad years fall materially changes the outcome — a sharp fall early in retirement does lasting damage that the same fall later would not. Figures are also pre-tax, pre-expense-ratio and unadjusted for inflation. Treat the output as a planning range, never a forecast.
